648 Belarusians are older than 100

648 Belarusians have already celebrated their centenary. The majority of long-livers are inhabitants of Hrodna Region – 150 people.
Minsk Region follows it with 114 people and Brest Region is in the third place (102). 83 people older than 100 live in Vitsebsk Region, 74 – in Minsk, 72 – in Homel Region and 53 – in Mahileu Region.

The oldest inhabitant of Belarus is Hanna Paulauna Rahel. She was born in Belyya village, Maladzechna District, in 1889: she will turn 120 on July 4. The old lady lives in Maladzechna together with her daughter.

BelTA notes that there are seven times fewer men than women among long-livers. 565 women and 83 men are older than 100. There are only women (13) in the age group of people older than 110.
