300,000 lost and stolen passports circulate in Belarus

300,000 stolen or lost passports circulate in Belarus, Anatol Lanin, a deputy head of the migration department at the Belarus's Interior Ministry told reporters.  He believes that virtually every misplaced passport could be used by conmen.

However, the government is expected to strengthen controls over the lost or stolen documents. The president's decree will come into effect in December to make sure that all the information about the lost or stolen passports will be forwarded within three days to the border control authorities, writes newspaper Respublika.
