160 Belarus athletes still in Beijing
At least 79 athletes and their coaches have returned back to Belarus from the Beijing Olympics in the past several days. It is expected that over 100 Belarusians will attend the Olympics closing ceremony, Belarus NOC spokesman Piotr Rabukhin told the European Radio for Belarus.
“Around 100 athletes are planned to depart Beijing on August 27. It means that over 100 Belarusians will be present at the closing ceremony. At the moment, 150-170 members of the Belarusian delegation are remaining in Beijing”.
In the view of Piotr Rabukhin, Belarus is still able deliver more medals.
“As of today, we have 6 rowing crews in the final. We also hope for Ina Zhukava in gymnastics and for Dzmitry Melekh and Yahor Lapo in the modern pentathlon. In other sports, we still have our athletes who can compete for medals".
