11:30 Russian court shuts down Gorbachev's party

The Supreme Court of the Russian Federation on April 13 ruled to abolish the Russian Social Democratic Party, following a legal action from the Federal Registration Service.
The court said the party did not have enough membership (at least 500 under the law) in the most of the Russian federal districts.

The party was founded by the first and the last Soviet president Mikhail Gorbachev, reports the Moscow-based radio station Ekho Moskvy.
