Youth parliament to appear in Minsk
A youth parliament is being created in Minsk to work as an analogue of the City Hall. A total of 55 deputies from the ranks of senior high school students will be elected to represent schools, constituencies and districts. The city authorities use this move to demonstrate the electoral system in this country to the youth, writes Komsomolskaya Pravda v Belarusi. "Deputies" will gather for their sessions after classes. Fours sessions, one per each quarter, will take place within on year.
Between their sessions, schoolchildren will work as real MPs as part of the parliament's permanent committees. They will discuss acute issues, hold round-table meetings and seminars…
One deputy of the Minsk City Council will facilitate the work of every students' committee. The resolutions of the youth parliament will not be mandatory.
