Yarmoshyna: International observers to arrive in Belarus by September 1

About 40 long-term and 400 short-term OSCE observers will take part in the monitoring of the presidential election in Belarus, CEC chairperson Lidizya Yarmoshyna said after a meeting in the CEC. The preparation for the future election as discussed at the meeting, BELTA reports.

“The OSCE work group suggested sending 40 long-term observers to Belarus by September 1. There will be about 400 short-term observers,” Lidziya Yarmoshyna said.

“We do not know the number of CIS observers but the Commonwealth has already sent an application for the accreditation of the first international observers headed by Mr. Lebedzeu,” she noted.
