Wrong century and 4 mistakes on Francysk Skaryna billboard in Minsk (photo)
A social billboard dedicated to the year of Culture has been installed at the intersection of Pershmaiskaya and Pulihau Streets in Minsk. The authors of the billboard have made a lot of mistakes, attentive Minskers noticed.
The billboard says: “Monument to Francysk Skaryna, illuminator and public figure of that XV century in Minsk.”
However, the first Belarusian printer was born in about 1490, scientists believe. It means that he only managed to reach the age of 10 in the 15th century. He became a public figure in the 16th century.
The picture and text were approved by the ideology department of Minsk City Executive Committee, the agency Misnkreklama explained. The company has agreed to correct the mistake and change the century.
By the way, this is not the only mistake on the billboard. There are also three spelling mistakes in the text.
