World Trade Organization expects explanations from Belarus and Russia

WTO member states “would like to have more clarity” in the initiative of coordinated membership of Belarus, Russia and Kazakhstan in the WTO. The deputy director general of the organization Harsha Vardhana Singh has claimed it. "When the question arouses, people asked for more information and clarity about the Russian initiatives”, - said Singh.

RIA “Novosti” reminds that government leaders of Belarus, Russia and Kazakhstan decided to inform the World Trade Organization about their desire to join it as “a customs union” in June 2009.

Then they agreed to form a united group for negotiations about the membership in the WTO and it was headed by the director of the trade negotiations department of the Ministry for Economic Development Maxim Medvedkov.
