Will Putin, Lukashenka sign airbase deal in Kremlin today?

Alyaksandr Lukashenka and Vladimir Putin will negotiate in the Kremlin on December 15. Russia has not specified whether they will sign the agreement on the deployment of a Russian military air base in Belarus at the meeting.

"Military cooperation issues will probably be discussed at the meeting in the Kremlin,” TASS refers to the Russian President’s press secretary Dmitri Peskov.

Putin ordered the Russian Ministry of Defence to negotiate with Belarus and sign the project of the agreement on the deployment of a Russian air base in Belarus in September. However, Belarus has spoken against it many times. Minister for Foreign Affairs Uladzimir Makei and even Alyaksandr Lukashenka doubted the expedience of the deployment of a Russian military air base on the territory of our country.
