15 people approached the Russian Embassy with Belarusian national flags and posters expressing their protest against the deployment of Russian military froces in Belarus. The corresponding appeal was passed to the Embassy.

The action was organized by the campaign Together for Belarus, solidarity movement Razam and foundation For Freedom and Democracy.

Similar protest actions took place in Minsk and Mahilyou, Euroradio reported earlier.

Russian Minister of Defense Sergei Shoigu announced the plan to deploy a Russian air base in Belarus in April 2013. A group of 4 Su-27 fighters landed at air base #61 in Baranavichy in December. Technical personnel also arrived from Russia.

Some other Russian military objects are already situated on the Belarusian territory: a communication base in Vileika and the radar station Volha near Hantsavichy.
