The Wimbledon judges have handed down a record amount of fines in the first week of the famous tennis tournament. Fifteen players were fined a total of $106,400 in the first week.

Among them was Belarusian athlete Aryna Sabalenka. According to Telegraph, she was punished for "unsportsmanlike conduct". It is not exactly known what she did wrong.

A fine of $5.5 thousand was imposed on the Russian athlete Daniil Medvedev for the same offence after he'd damaged the grass court with his racket and refused to shake the judge's hand at the end of the game.

Last year's fines for foul language, broken rackets and other offenses, which include being late for court, violation of the dress code, amounted to only $68 thousand for the two weeks of the competition.
