Ukrainian PM: Russia demanded to put off association agreement with EU

The Russian administration claimed that the agreement would put an end to Ukraine-Russia negotiations about the trade and economic relations between the two states, he said.

"They said: we are ready to discuss the problems on a trilateral basis but you need to put off the association agreement. Then we will take part in a round table discussion and you will be able to sign the agreement later,” RBK quotes Azarov. There were no direct threats coming from Russia, the official assured.

Kiev is planning to start trade and economy negotiations with Moscow this December, he noted.

Russia and the EU accused each other of blackmailing Ukraine as regards the European integration issue earlier.
