Ukraine contact group to meet in Minsk today

Representatives of Ukraine, the OSCE and Russia will take part in the negotiations.

The names of the representatives have not been announced by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs yet, BELTA reports. It is only known that ‘vice PM’ Andrei Purgin will defend the interests of ‘the DPR’.

The trilateral contact group (Ukraine-OSCE-Russia) discussed the ways of settling the conflict in East Ukraine with representatives of the administration of the self-declared ‘Donetsk People’s Republic’ in Minsk on July 31. The contact group consisted of Ukrainian ex-President Leonid Kuchma, Russian Ambassador to Ukraine Mikhail Zurabov and official OSCE representative Adelheid Tagliavini.
