Two people detained over 'school bombs' in Maladzechna

No more details are available so far.

Yesterday there appeared information about the first detainee. He was suspected of making threats to blow up Maladzechna schools. This very person is suspected of sending the letters, in which he demanded $10 thousand, to ten school headmasters.

The incident happened on Thursday morning. A headmaster of one of Maladzechna schools complained to the police about a letter which wrote: “Your school will be blown up unless you send $10 thousand to this purse” at 11.30 a.m.

The same letters were sent to 10 other Maladzechna schools (all of them were sent via mail from Maladzechna). The children and the teachers were evacuated from all schools and grammar schools. The kids were sent home, the police sealed the schools. Almaz police commando units and field engineers arrived in Maladzechna from the capital Minsk. By 16.30, it has been confirmed there were no explosives.
