Tsihanovich: We will not offer participation in “Eurovision” to anyone
What will happen if there is no decent singer to represent our country at “Eurovision” among those who will apply for it? The head of the national selection tour Alyalksandr Tsihanovich says that they will chose a performer from the received applications anyway. “Of course, it may happen that we will not have anyone to chose. We could suggest participation to someone. But “Eurofest” is a contest. We cannot appoint anyone. We do not have such an option in our rules. We would have to change the rules then”.
Alyaksandr Tsihanovіch has reminded that TV viewers will choose the Belarusian representative for “Eurovision” this year.
Alyaksandr Tsіhanovіch: “We have introduced some changes this year. A professional jury will work in the semi-final and TV viewers will vote in the final. That is why everything is very serious this year”.
Taking “the bitter experience” of the last year into account, a lot of attention will be paid to the singer’s psychological state.
Alyaksandr Tsіhanovіch: “My bitter experience of the last year – the artist’s psychological state should correspond to the “Eurovision” contest. The amount of work to be done there is incomparable to anything. There will be endless interviews and you should always be in good form and be able to communicate, etc.”
