Train derailed due to missing rails near Orsha

A train was derailed in the evening of September 22 in the Orsha county, ERB correspondent reports. Luckily, only empty cargo platforms were hooked to the engine. The accident took place because unknown perpetrators stole 12 meters of rails. The driver noticed the missing link, but it was too late for him to stop the train.

No injuries were reported. The Belarusian security service KGB opened an investigation into the accident on terrorism suspicion. The rails were found nearby.
