There are already 1500 political prisoners in Belarus

On April 21, human rights activists in Belarus recognized 11 more people as political prisoners.

They are Aliaksandr Tarasenka, Viktar Lameka, Aliaksandr Dziuba, Raman Artsemenka, Aliaksandr Tuchkou, Volha Aleniuk, Ihar Sviryda, Andrei Pukanau, Tamara Karavay, Dzmitry Zhydko and Ivan Miliukou. Almost all of them were charged with insulting or slandering Lukashenka or a representative of the authorities.

The total number of recognized political prisoners in Belarus has reached 1500 people. The actual number of people persecuted for political reasons is higher.
