Soccer Federation sacks Referee Committee leaders

The executive board of the Belarusian Soccer Federation (BSF) has sacked the chairman and deputy chairman of the Referee Committee following the life suspension of a referee for appearing heavily drunk on the pitch.

Mikhail Arkhipau was named acting chairman after the dismissal of Aleh Chykun, chairman of the Committee, and Yury Dupanau, deputy chairman, Pressbol reported.

A blood test proved that Syarhey Shmolik, 43, was heavily drunk while officiating the July 5 game between Vitsyebsk and Naftan as part of the 13th round of the national championship.
