Sidorski, Tymoshenko meet date remains unknown

The date of a meeting between Belarus and Ukraine MPs Siarhei Sidorski and Yulia Tymoshenko has not been defined yet. Belarus cabinet spokesman Alexander Tsimashenka told the Belapan news agency that the foreign ministries of the two countries were in the process of coordinating the matter.  The press office of the Belarus' foreign ministry was unable to name even an approximate date of the meet. No comments are available from Ukraine's Cabinet of Ministers, either.

According to the results of the meeting between Ukraine and Belarus presidents Victor Yuschenko and Alexander Lukashenka on January 20 in Chernigov, the heads of the state announced that the prime ministers of the two countries were to meet within the next ten days to follow up on the deals agreed.

In Chernigov, the presidents signed a memorandum on cooperation in the energy sector, a consulate convention, a memorandum between the governments and national banks to develop joint measures to speed up the trade and economic cooperation in the condition of the crisis. On February 5, 2009, Belarus' National Bank chairman Piotr Prakapovich told journalists that the meeting between Belarus and Ukraine PMs would take place before late February.
