Serge Sarkisyan wins presidential election in Armenia

The Armenian Central Election Commission has announced the victory of the Prime Minister Serge Sarkisyan in the presidential election. It turned out that the head of the government got 52.86% of votes after 100% of voting papers had been checked.
There is no need in a run-off because Sarkisyan was supported by more than a half of electors. According to the Central Election Commission, his main rival, a former President of the country Lyavon Tser-Petrosyan got 21.5% of votes.

Nine candidates ran for the President. The current leader of the country Robert Karachan did not take part in the election as he had already occupied the post twice.
