Self-immolation in Japan: 2 people killed, 20 injured

The incident occurred in a high-speed railway train heading from Tokyo to Osaka on the morning of June 30.  One of the passengers poured a combustion agent on himself and set fire to it when the train was between the stations Shin-Yokogama and Odawara. It did not seem to be a terrorist act. It was a suicide.

The first carriage was filled with white smoke very soon, RIA Novosti reports. Two people were killed (including the suicide) and 20 were injured. Two people are in a serious condition.

The train operation was stopped in both directions.
