School to be constructed on former concentration camp site in Hrodna

A new school will be built on the site of a former concentration camp in Hrodna's suburb, Lassona.
The Nazi used the camp to hold Soviet prisoners-of-war during the World War II. In December 2007, the territory of the camp was inspected by a special search battalion, and remains of the Soviet soldiers were found.

The remains of 361 soldiers were today reburried in Hrodna. Only two names could be identified. The remains of four soldiers have been sent for a forensic examination. The rest are burried under the Unknown Soldier sign.
