Ryhor Yuzepchuk, 45, executed in Belarus

Yuzepchuk killed his cellmate because he had lost his life in dominoes. Mahilyou Province Court sentenced him to death on March 25, 2013. The hearing was closed. The Supreme Court left the verdict in force.

According to human rights activists, Yuzepchuk had seven previous convictions. He was jailed for 25 years for a double murder last time. He started a sexual intercourse with a woman but their drinking companion did not like it.  Yuzepchuk killed both people with a knife ‘out of jealousy’, the Belarusian television reports.

Yuzepchuk could be executed together with Pavel Selyun, human rights activists think. Selyun’s lawyer was informed about the execution on April 18 although no official confirmation has been given so far.
