Russian tycoon Khodorkovski to be released earlier

Their terms of imprisonment have been reduced by2 months (to 10 years and 10 months). Ex-head of YUKOS Hodorkovski will be released in August 2014 and ex-head of Menotep Lebedev – at the beginning of the next year.

The sentence will be appealed inn the Supreme Court presidium, RIA Novosti reports.

Mikhail Hodorkovski was imprisoned in 2003. Platon Lebedev and he were returned guilty of stealing 20% of Apatit shares and selling goods at the international market at twice the price they were sold in Russia. They were imprisoned for 9 years. Hodorkovski and Lededev made the state lose about $500 million.

Mikhail Hodorkovski and Platon Lebedev were returned guilty of “misappropriation” and “money-laundering” in December 2010. They were imprisoned for 14 years but the term was reduced later.
