Russian diplomats to meet Baumgertner

BelaPAN has reported it referring to Russian consul Igor Koryagin.

"It has been allowed. We need to agree on the exact time with the Investigation Committee. I cannot tell when we will meet him,” the diplomat noted.

Uralkali CEO Vladislav Baumgertner was detained in Minsk on August 26. He was invited to Belarus by PM Mihail Myasnikovich. The Russian enterprise refused to cooperate with the Belarusian Potash Company (the trader that united Uralkali and Belaruskali) before the arrest.

Baumgertner was accused of power abuse on the evening of August 29. He is facing 10 years of imprisonment and confiscation of property. The losses he caused to the Belarusian Potash Company reach $100 million, the Investigative Committee reported.

Vladislav Baumgertner spent a month in KGB prison. The top manager was put under house arrest on September 26, after Russian Attorney general Yuri Chaika had visited Minsk.
