Russia wants Belarus in its visa space

The Russia-Belarus border must remain open, but Moscow and Minsk should consider switching to a single visa regime in to order to strengthen the border security of the 'union state', General Lieutanant Nikolay Rybalkin , the deputy chief of the Russian border guard service said in a statement on Friday.

The single border space in the framework of the unions envisages a single visa regime, he said.  Russia needs a single visa regime with Belarus, because Belarus has no visa regime with some of the third countries, while Russia does have a visa control with tthe, reports the Russian news agency RIA Novosti.
