Russia to receive database of people banned from leaving Belarus

The Belarusian border guards have received the database of people who are restricted from leaving Belarus, General Major Igar Rachkouski, the Chairman of the State Border Control Committee said in a statement. "The database is ready", he said. Yet, it is not revealed how many people were entered in this list.

The database will also be forwarded to the Russian border guards in order to prevent Belarusians from leaving the country through the territory of Russia with which we have an open border.

The permissive stamp for foreign travel in the Belarusian passports will be abolished effective from January 1, 2008, according to the presidential decree.

People who are not allowed to leave Belarus will be filtered by a border control automated system. All the crossing points at the Belarusian border were equipped with this system several days ago, reports Interfax.
