Russia indignant at Prince Charles’ comparison of Putin to Hitler
The Russian deputy Ambassador is going to meet a representative of the British Foreign Office in connection with it.
Prince Charles compared Russian President Vladimir Putin to Adolf Hitler during his visit to Canada. It happened in a private conversation when the Prince was commenting on Russia’s policy in Ukraine and the annexation of Crimea.
Prince Charles’ press service has refused to comment on His Highness’ private conversation. PM David Cameron and his deputy Nick Clegg have also refused to comment on it, BBC notes.
However, the Russian Embassy would like to receive official explanations of the Prince’s remarks.
BBC contacted Russian President’s press secretary Dmitri Peskov earlier. Putin ‘will not comment’ on Prince Charles’ remarks now, he said. By the way, the Russian press ignored Charles’ words.
