Young Bresters invited to EU as volunteers

Chairperson of Brest city department of this civil organization Anastasia Velyanets has explained:

"The program "Youth in Action" helps young people from Belarus to obtain professional skills and to develop personal qualities abroad in order to use them in their Homeland. The program gives an opportunity to take part in the voluntary movement abroad for the term up to 12 months. This is civil activity. It may be directed to ecological projects, may be connected with working with kids, or people with limited abilities".

The organizers cover travel expenses, accommodation and food for a volunteer and provide pocket money. A volunteer is given an opportunity to choose the country, to learn its language and culture while working there.

The program which has been presented in Brest is a part of a major volunteer program which has been carried out in the European Union in 2007-2013 with budget of 885 million euros.
