Why is the judge in such a hurry?

The trial on the terrorists' case unexpectedly finished on November 3. The judge announced a break till November 14 and appointed the arguments. Before this, he declined about a dozen of appeals filed by the defense and by the victims of the terrorist attack. Euroradio noticed that the lawyers and sometimes the casualties as well argued with the judge during the trial.

Casualty Saakyan is reading out his appeal. He started with the "introduction", in which he referred to the Constitutional articles. However, the judge interrupts him at a certain moment.

"The courts shall administer justice on the basis of the Constitution, the laws, and other enforceable enactments adopted in accordance therewith. In the aims of fair court trial every participant should be granted an opportunity to use the rights provided by the law. A Chairperson in the case provides..."

Judge: "Do you have a right or not? Do not explain us all the resolutions of the plenum. You have a right to file an appeal. So please if you have an appeal - file it. If you don't - just sit down".

"Let me finish. He should provide..."

Judge: "I warn you once again that you are giving information which is not relevant to the case today".

"It is re..."

Judge: "If you have an appeal - file it!"

"I think that he presses the lawyers a bit, and sometimes it becomes noticeable. He interrupts. However, the guys are not exactly timid, they resist, say what they think and that's it", — one of the present, Uladzimir, comments the situation.

On the last day of hearing of the case in court almost all the lawyers' appeals were declined. The prosecutor's appeal was satisfied. The situation was the same during the whole trial. Sviatlana has attented the trial since the very beginning:

"Almost all appeals of the lawyers and the casualties were declined today. One of the casualties raised and said that she still could not understand who was guilty to the terrorist attack. It seemed to me that the judge was biased. They say in the Internet that he is the fourth prosecutor".

The end of the trial was unexpected to everyone. When the protocol of the search in Kavalyou's rented apartment was read out, everyone expected there will be a continuation, new witnesses.

"We waited that they would call new witnesses, and suddenly, absolutely unexpectedly for all of us, the judge said that the arguments would take place on November 14. People in the hall cried, first Kavalyou's mother, then one of the casualties. The people were shocked. The judge left and people stayed and protested loudly", — says Svyatlana.

It is interesting that, according to the observations of Euroradio's journalist, the casualties feel sympathy to the accused due to some reason. Is it the Stockholm syndrom?
