Trial against "Books by Mail" sevice to be resumed today

The trial against Ales Yaudakha - founder of the "Books by Mail" service - started at 10 a.m. on July 28 in the Kastrychnitski district court of Minsk. However, it has been postponed till today, 10 a.m.


The distributor of Belarusian books and CDs is accused of illegal entrepreneurship (Part 1 Article 233 of the Criminal Code). This article prescribes punishment from fine to 3 years of imprisonment.

Let us remind you, the Department of financial investigations of the state control committee started a criminal case against Yaudakha in May 2010. Investigators summoned the clients of the "Books by Mail" service, asking them why they transferred the money to the books' distributor. 


Yaudakha says that representatives of the Ministry of Taxes and Fees made a control purchase in February 2011 - they ordered several dozens of copies of the book "Young Front activists". This was when the problems started.
