Terrorist attack in Liège: 6 people died (photo+video)

Previously, it was informed that there had been three attackers but then the information was clarified - Amrani acted alone. The police found his car not far from the crime site.

The criminal opened the fire at day-time on December 13 in the center of Liège, at the bus stop in the Saint-Lambert Square. He was armed with bombshells and Kalashnikov machine-gun, which he used to shoot people. He shot from the roof of the nearest building. After that, the man committed suicide by blasting himself on a bombshell.

As a result, about 125 people were injured, according to the latest information, BBC reports. Many of them were sent to hospitals with fragment wounds. Approximately half of them are young people of the age of 17-20. The victims are two teenagers, an 18-months-old girl, a 75-year-old woman and the criminal himself.

According to the information provided by Le Soir, Amrani had a criminal past - he was sentenced to 58 months of imprisonment for illegal storage of weapons and growing cannabis. A representative of the Interior Ministry of Belgium stated that the criminal's actions could not be considered as terrorism.

Student Mikita has told live on air to Euroradio what is happening in the Belgian city where the terrorist act took place.

The youngster did not witness the events which happened in the Saint-Lambert Square - his university department is located out of the city. However, he has said that the youth liked to gather at the place of the terrorist act. There are two teenagers among the victims, and half of the injured are young people of 17-20 years old.

"People are scared to go out, — says Mikita. — On the whole, Liège has a reputation of a criminal city".
