Silvio Berlusconi may face 3 years and 8 months of imprisonment
The ex-PM is accused of swindle when purchasing broadcasting rights by his media company Mediaset.
According to the accusation's version,
Berlusconi and the managing staff of Mediaset illegally increased purchasing
prices for American cinema and TV products. The difference between the real and
the modified prices for TV broadcastings went to the "black funds",
registered in offshores. Apart from that, Mediaset is accused of faking
financial reports and tax evasion, informs RBC.
Prosecutor
Fabio De Pascuali informed at the trial that they had proved connection between
the ex-Prime Minister and the funds in the offshore zones.
The
media magnate denies all accusations against him. The next hearing has been
appointed on July 2.
