Sasha Varlamau pleads not guilty

The interrogation of Varlamau started after 3 p.m. He began his story from 1998 when the BSU rector, Alyaksandr Kazulin, asked him to cooperate. Varlamau said that he was already well-known in the fashion circles at that time and did not need to build himself up like the prosecutor had claimed.

Varlamau showed a 10-year contract of signed by BSU rector Kazulin in 2001: "BSU renders material assistance to "Sasha Varlamau's Fashion Agency" and allows the agency to use its territories for free". He did not have to pay any rent, Radio Liberty reports referring to Varlamau. But the agency paid for all the household running costs  until 2009 and stopped doing it afterwards.
