MEP on affecting Minsk: “We have tried everything”
The only way to exercise influence on Alyaksandr Lukashenka is to ask European hockey teams to boycott the 2014 World Ice Hockey Championship in Belarus.
MEP Hanes Svoboda has expressed the opinion during his visit to Moscow, “We have tried everything”, - reports RIA “Novosti” quoting Svoboda.
Only a boycott can change Alyaksandr Lukashenka’s policy now because it is important to him, noted the MEP.
Let us remind you that the International Ice Hockey Federation may discuss the expediency of holding the World Championship in Belarus in May. A congress will be held by the organization in Helsinki at the end of spring.
