Lithuania fears to repeat "Byalyatski case" in a story with Swedes

Let us remind you, the Belarusian law enforcement agencies announced their intention to appeal to the authorities of Sweden and Lithuania in the "teddy bears assault." Commenting on this information, Zingeris recalled the case of human rights activist Ales Byalyatski and regretted the self-isolation of Belarus. The Lithuanian politician warned that the request of the Belarusian authorities to Lithuania on legal assistance in the "teddy bears assault" could be an attempt to repeat the story of Byalyatski, Radio "Liberty" informs.

Let us remind you, the Belarusian human rights activist was imprisoned allegedly for tax evasion, and the sentence was based on the data received from Lithuania and Poland.

The message of the Lithuanian Parliament said that Lithuania respects the inviolability of state borders of Belarus and fulfills all the signed legal agreements. However, this should in no way be a cause for the Belarusian authorities to persecute their political opponents and members of the democratic forces, as it happened a year ago in the case of Ales Byalyatski.
