Poland charges Belarusian with preparing sabotage for foreign intelligence

Belarusian citizen Vitaly S. will be tried in Poland for preparing sabotage on the orders of foreign intelligence. He was charged on July 27, according to the press service of Poland's Internal Security Agency (ABW).
The man worked as a bartender at one of the restaurants in Lublin. As Polish security services established, he was preparing to set fire to a warehouse in the Lublin Voivodeship. The Belarusian conducted reconnaissance of the facility, recorded a video of the warehouse, and passed the prepared documentation to his handler. He was paid in cryptocurrency for carrying out the assignment. Telegram was used for recruitment and the transmission of instructions. The man was detained on August 13, 2025. He has been in custody ever since.
In addition to preparing sabotage, Vitaly S. is charged with drug possession. He faces up to eight years in prison for these crimes.
