Employees of the police must monitor the mood in chats at enterprises and compile lists of veterans and volunteer militia members in case of "a deterioration of the situation". This was stated by the head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs Ivan Kubrakow during comprehensive command-and-staff exercises in the Grodno region.

The exercises began on July 29. They are taking place in Vyalikaya Byerastavitsa, Lida, and Grodno. Also participating are the commander of the internal troops Mikalai Karpiankou, heads of regional units of law enforcement agencies and state bodies.

As part of the exercises in Grodno, the police practiced dispersing so-called "mass riots". The OMON riot police and the special forces unit of the Ministry of Internal Affairs internal troops "Typhoon" were deployed, while soldiers of the Western Operational Command of the Ministry of Defense were used to cordon off the area.
