Consequences of failure at TPP-3 not liquidated yet
Electric power supply failed in four districts of the city.
The incident occurred beacuse the power feeder, which provided electricity to several city districts at a time, turned off. The electricity problems covered partly the Central, Lenin, Zavodzki and Partyzanski districts.
The reason for failure at the TPP-3 is being clarified, an emergency brigade is working at the site. An assistant of the head of Minsk city administration of emergency situations Vital Dembouski has said this to Euroradio.
Dembouski: ”One of the feeders turned off due to an unknown reason. The feeder's capacity is 10 kV, it transfers electric power to several transforming power sub-stations of several Minsk districts. It will take approximately three hours to turn the feeder on again, as soon as we detect the reason”.
Dembouski has noted that liquidation of consequences may take longer. There is an information that a part of cash-desks in the Central Department Store turned off. There were also disorders at the "Academy of Sciences" subway station. Traffic lights in Niamiha area also didn't work.
