Charter'97 resumes working

The site didn't work for nearly 24 hours after the second attack. On the first day, the plotters deleted part of the archive materials and published materials which abused Iryna Khalip - journalist and wife of political prisoner Andrej Sannikau - at the web-page Charter'97. Then a DDoS-attack started. On December 30, the abusers changed the contents of one article and substituted it with abuses against the site's editor Natallia Radzina.

In Radzina's opinion, expressed in an interview to BelaPAN, this was done by the Belarusian special sevices. Natallia Radzina still fears of physical reprisal over journalists.

The editor's office of Charter'97 works in Lithuania. Natallia Radzina got political asylum in this country as she faced imprisonment after the December 19 events.
