The Ministry of Culture is looking for investors for “agro-ecotoursim”. It means that it is selling manors and castles. Euroradio has found 46 offers of the kind on the list published on the website of the Ministry of Culture.

“It is being valued by the Ministry of Culture now. It will cost about 1.3 billion roubles”, - informs the cultural department of Vaukavysk City Executive Committee meaning the former manor of the Chachots in the village of Padarosk.

It used to belong to the agricultural enterprise “Padarosk”.

“The manor looks okay. But everything is destroyed inside, there was some replanning. The condition is bad. There were barns and some of them were destroyed. There is a lake nearby. But it is very expensive”, - informed the enterprise.

As Euroradio has found out, the manor costs 123 thousand euro. And you can only use it for agro-tourism. Then we have found a Hungarian Baroque castle on a real estate website.

It costs 110 thousand euro. The mandatory requirement is restoration. There are 14 rooms, water supply, electricity, a wine cellar and a parking lot in the castle.

It is 13 thousands cheaper than Chachots’ heritage!

The territory of Reitans’ manor is occupied by ... calves now. Officials are looking for an investor.

“There are stables in Reitans’ manor. One of them is almost destroyed and the other one is in good condition. But there is nothing in the manor itself, only walls”, - the cultural department of Lyahavichy District Executive Committee has described the Prussian noblemen’s manor situated in the village of Hrushauka.

According to Baranavichy District Executive Committee, Radziwills’ palace in the village of Palanechka is also for sale. There used to be a school in the building and now it is deteriorating. But a buyer has already been found.

“Windows and doors are blocked up with boards to prevent children from getting inside. It used to host a school for many years. Then it was announced to be in emergency state. The roof was covered with stainless steel. The walls and the building are still standing”, - this is how Baranavichy District Executive Committee descries the castle that belonged to the Radziwills.

The Italian company “Dolce Auto” has bought fragments of the former manor that used to belong to the Yalenskis in the village of Tucha. It took six months to prepare all the documents.

“According to the District Executive Committee’s decision, they have to turn it into a tourist object and provide two vacancies. They will have to start using the object in a few years”, - informs Kletsk District Executive Committee.

“It is a clash of patronage of art and capitalism. Besides the manor, we have bought a distillery, stables, the lake and part of the forest. We are going to use the stables, make a landscape park, organize fishing, a museum affiliate  and a centre with rooms resembling a hostel”, - Vital Shablouski, head of the board of directors of “Dolce Auto” shared his plans with me.

The company has already organized 5 projects of the kind. It is going to buy two more objects. They say that Belarus underestimates the prospects of tourism.
