Belarus defense ministry: Fighter jet was chasing a bird flock

Belapan news agency reports that on April 17 at around 1300 border control radars in Belarus spotted a violation of this country's air space near Hrodna, western Belarus. To intercept a potential violator, a MiG-29 military jet was airborne. However, it turned out that the border was violated by a flock of birds.

On April 18, Lithuania's MFA passed a note to the Belarusian Emassy in Vinius, demanding to explain the fact of Lithuanian air space violation by a Belarusian Air Force fighter jet.
