Azarenka: People do not recognize me in Minsk streets

World no. 2 Victoria Azarenka has conducted a master class for children in Minsk today, on June 12. The idea came to Azarenka's mind during her week of vacations in the Belarusian capital. Children make Victoria happy and exhausted at the same time.

“I liked the master class very much. It seems that more and more children play tennis here. It would be absolutely great if they were more obedient as it takes a lot of effort and energy. In fact, it was a very positive experience".

Azarenka signed her photos, posters and tennis balls for children after the master class. Mothers were almost fighting while their children were waiting in a line. They wanted their children to get autographs first.

Victoria organized a small press conference in the tennis court. Journalists wondered: how did she feel having lost the first position in the rankings? Azarenka thinks about it philosophically.

This is life. I am World no. 2  - it happens. I can still become  number one. I do not care about it. Now there is additional motivation to keep working".

However, she added that she did not congratulate Sharapova and fell silent for a few seconds. Evidently, the Belarusian star was upset about the question about yielding the palm.

However, she eagerly talked about her vacations. Azarenka lives in her own flat she bought two years ago and drives in the neighbourhood of the capital (in her vinous  Porsche Cayenne as Euroradio has found out). She runs along the main avenue sometimes. But people do not recognize her. She joked that she was probably running too fast.

The star keeps watching Euro-2012. Spain is her favourite team.

“I watch it every day. I support Spain - Belarus is not taking part in it. There are a lot of teams to root for now - Ukraine or Russia that is very motivated now. But I'm a patriot - I would support Belarus".

Azarenka's vacations end today - Victoria will start getting ready for the Wimbledon Championships tomorrow. The tennis player's coach will arrive in Minsk for it.
