Action against capital punishment in Minsk (photo)
It is taking place near the memorial to victims of April 11, 2011 terrorist act.
According to Euroradio reporter Ales Piletski, Minskers are approaching the memorial to lay flowers and light candles. People keep coming every 2 or 3 minutes. About 10 candles have been lit.
About 20 journalists and a lot of policemen including Minsk police administration are present there. Participants of the action get shadowed by policemen. The Euroradio reporter saw two girls trying to hide from the police at McDonalds but the policemen followed them.
Everyone who brings flowers and lights candles are being filmed by the police. People in plain clothes are making the detained get in their cars.
Let us remind you that the action has been caused by the report that Alyaksandr Lukashenka refused to pardon Dzmitry Kanavalau and Uladzislau Kavalyou.
