Rector of EHU Anatol Mihailau becomes laureate of prestigious democratic prize
Ion Raţiu American Fund has announced the laureate of the democratic prize of Ion Raţiu in 2007 – it is the rector of the Belarusian European Humanitarian University, Professor Anatol Mihailau.
The prize was awarded in the International Woodrow Wilson Centre in Washington on November 15.
After the ceremony of award Anatol Mihailau read a lecture “Democracy as a challenge”. The press secretary of EHU Katsyaryna Radzko informed ERB about it.
“The prize includes a money award but in the first place it is an opportunity to make a speech for researchers in the International Woodrow Wilson Centre and to draw attention to problems of democracy in certain countries”.
The prize was founded in honour of a Romanian politician Ion Raţiu, fighter for democratic changes all over the world.
