Readers of “Hazeta Slonimskaya” started an action in support of their favourite edition
Readers of an independent edition “Hazeta Slonimskaya” started collecting signatures in support of their favourite newspaper. Let us remind you that the editorial staff will have to leave the office they have been renting for many years by the end of May. They were refused to prolong the rent contract.
The publisher and editor-in-chief of “Hazeta Slonimskaya” Victar Valadashchuk was surprised about the reaction of readers. He noted in an interview with ERB that the edition addressed readers when problems arose and they responded:
"We addressed our readers and informed them about the current situation and the newspaper’s problems. So they have started reacting. They are sending us letters and phoning. We are publishing most of their letters”.
Vіctar Valadashchuk says that he still hopes to find some other office for the editorial staff in Slonim in order to save the newspaper:
"We will hardly be able to stay in the current office. There are a number of other ways out but I cannot give any certain answer at the moment”.
