Poroshenko visits Slovyansk(photo)
Ukraine's president met with the dwellers of the town which had been controlled by the separatists just recently.
The press-center of Donetsk regional state administration has provided the information about Petro Poroshenko's visit:
“The state leader talked to the people and assured them that the authorities were doing their best to reinstate the normal life in the town as soon as possible”, stated in the message.
The President of Ukraine also awarded the military men who had distinguished themselves during the antiterrorist operation in Donetsk region, in the framework of his working visit to Slovyansk.
The Ukrainian troops entered Slovyansk only on Saturday after almost all combatants of the self-proclaimed Donetsk People's Republic had left the town. Before this, Slovyansk had been considered one of the separatists' centers.
