Popular Front candidate V. Sviatskaya 100 percent confident in her victory

Valiantsina Svyatskaya, a Popular Front candidate who is running in the Esenin Constituency, has expressed confidence in her victory, the candidate told the European Radio for Belarus. V. Sviatskaya: “I am confident that the victory will be mine. I am sure. It will be very hard for the authorities to rig the results of the elections. I know that what the reults will be, but I am confident that I should win".

According to the candidate, she went door-to-door to collect signtures and during the campaign. She would leave her phone number on leaflets. During the campaign, she received no negative call. All people ranging from babushkas to police officers expressed support. But she was very surpised by support from the members of the election commission.

Sviatskaya: “Members of the election commission called me after my presentation on TV and said: "Your presentation was suberb". I don't really know what happened with the election commision this time!”

Ihar Karpenka from the Communist Party is Sviatskaya's only contender during this election. They competed during the previous elections as well. The Communist candidate won back the, while the Popular Front candidate received only 16.8 percent of votes, according to official reports.
