Politicians who are free ask for their arrested colleagues

Representatives of Belarusian political parties and civil and political organisations have addressed to the European parliament and the leaders of the EU countries with a suggestion that they should demand to release all the detainees from the Belarusian authorities. "In case they don't follow these demands we think it is reasonable to use all possible means of diplomatic, political and economic influence against the government of the Republic of Belarus", — stated in the appeal.

Its authors underline that mass searches are conducted in the country, independent media, activists of parties and civil organizations are repressed. Criminal cases have been started against 7 presidential candidates and their representatives. 

BelaPAN reports, that the appeal has been signed by Siarhej Kaliakin on behalf of the Belarusian Left Party "Fair World", Stanislau Bahdankevich on behalf of the United Civic Party, Stanislau Shushkevich on behalf of the Belarusian Social Democratic Assembly,  Aliaksej Janukevich on behalf of the BPF party, Dzianis Sadouski on behalf of the steering committee for creating the party "Belarusian Christian Democracy", Volha Nyaklyaeva on behalf of the "Tell the Truth!" campaign, Victar Ivashkevich on behalf of the "European Belarus" campaign, Ales Kirkevich on behalf of the youth organization "Young Front" (registered in Czech Republic), Aliaksandr Milinkevich on behalf of the movement "For Freedom!"  and Uladzimir Kolas on behalf of the Belarusian Council of Intellectuals.
