"Polish spies" case filed with Supreme Court of Belarus

The "Polish spies" case has been filed with the Supreme Court of Belarus and will be heared by the military college of the Supreme Court. Interfax reports the hearings will be held behind the closed doors.
Five former military officers, including a Russian national, are accused of espionage for Poland. In mid-July 2007, the Belarus's security agency KGB said it had busted a Polish spy ring that operated on the Belarusian territory.

KGB alleged that the former officers collected intelligence about the joint air defense systems of Belarus and Russia. They are facing criminal charges of "state treason in a form of espionage".

KGB said the spies did not damage the defense security of this country.
